Painting progress! I seem to be back on to painting my Dark Elves, despite having not used them in months. I finished the last 5 Warriors to bring the unit up to 50. Now need to do 30 shields and all 50 bases to get the unit done.

After that I just have to do pretty much all the rest of the army!

Here’s some shots from a Dark Elf vs High Elf mega-battle we fought at the club last night. Each side had 6000 points, that’s an intense 12,000 points of elves on the battlefield!

After a few turns of manoeuvring - about standard for any game of Fantasy - the two armies started to reach combat. The 90-spearman block of Dark Elves in the centre held, while the Witch Elves and Cold One Knights broke through one flank, despite heavy losses on the Wyches. When the dust settled the High Elf flank had collapsed and the Dark Elves were pushing deeply through their lines, a victory for Nagarythe!

Here’s a handful of shots from my latest Fantasy campaign game. Sadly not many photos, my camera was acting up.

I’ve been playing 40k the last month or so, and came back to the campaign with a game against a rival Dark Elf faction. Given that I’d won somewhere in the region of my last 6 Fantasy games he was keen to end my winning streak, but when the dust settled it turned out I’d managed to do it again with a killpoint score in the region of 1250kp for me and 800kp for him.

A good game, the action really all happened in turn 4, with the first 3 turns being devoted to manoeuvring and trying to get position. Things looked close right up until the end, but a good charge by my Cold One Knights took out his Corsairs, and my Hydra managed to show up to help my Spearmen finish off his Spearmen.

Spearmen move up

Cold One Knights advance

The Orc line closes in

Dark Elves won't stand for this

Terrain means nothing to spiders!

Spiders get everywhere

I need better movement trays

Combat collapses, Hydra chases Trolls

Dark Riders pursue Orcs

Played my fifth game of our club’s Warhammer Fantasy campaign, this time attacking the capital city of the Orcs. After some well-timed flank charges I managed to break and chase down some pretty big sections of his army after which it was mostly just a cleaning up operation.

In case you didn’t know, Cold One Knights are pretty amazing on the charge ^_^

Five games, five wins. Next week I’m lined up to attack the Chaos Daemons’ capital. I beat them in our previous game, a Storm Of Magic mission, so I’m hoping to repeat that success.

Sorceress stares down Keeper of Secrets

Spearmen watch advancing Daemons

Crossbows watch the hordes advance

Riders and Knights flanking

The Daemons just keep advancing

Two armies face off

Miscast, swapping two fulcrums

Photos from when my Dark Elves took on Chaos Daemons in a Storm of Magic game. My first game of Storm of Magic, I was taking quite a beating until one of the Daemons miscast, turning all the wizards into frogs and allowing me to squish both of his Greater Daemons!

Tactics? No need, I’ve got sheer dumb luck.

Crossbows face down advancing Orcs

And also more advancing Orcs!

Hydra gets in about some Trolls

Magic stomping on the Spearmen

Played a game for our Warhammer campaign against Orcs last night, a Surprise Encounter. Managed a crushing victory out of it, so can’t complain!
